In Response to the Last One, or a Reminder to Get Over Yourself

When I consider how my light is spent,
Ere half my days in this dark world and wide,
And that one talent which is death to hide
Lodged with me useless, though my soul more bent
To serve therewith my Maker, and present
My true account, lest He returning chide;
"Doth God exact day-labor, light denied?"
I fondly ask. But Patience, to prevent
That murmur, soon replies, "God doth not need
Either man's work or His own gifts. Who best
Bear His mild yoke, they serve Him best. His state
Is kingly: thousands at His bidding speed,
And post o'er land and ocean without rest;
They also serve who only stand and wait."

Okay, two things -

#1: Wait! Which school was this??? I thought you already got into the program you wanted in SF.

#2: I love that poem!

That poem seems vaguely familiar...as in "I think we had to memorize that at one point in school." ;)

Buttercup: I do want to be a part of SF's program, but I was still hoping for the program at Ohio State (in that it was specifically an acting program; SF's is more research based [which is still exciting (I'm just a whiny baby)]).

Laura: You got me! I was pretty surprised to find comfort in the oft-neglected poetry section of the A Beka curriculum, but find it I did. :)
