Just for the record, we attacked Iraq because we believed that they had weapons of mass destruction and we thought that they were an immediate threat. We found none, and we're still there, three years later.
So how can North Korea think that it can show the world that it has weapons of mass destruction, and not think that the crap is going to hit the fan? Although, the fact that they apparently have nuclear capabilities and have threatened to use them if anybody ever attacks them might give us pause before we shuffle off this mortal coil.
What we don't realize is that we're back living in the fear of the nineteen fifties. I wouldn't be surprised if they started telling school children to hide underneath their desks should a terrorist attack occur.
Here's to hoping I make it to thirty.

That's a very good point.
I just really don't understand, and maybe someone can explain it to me. Even before we went into Iraq, North Korea was saying "hey! We have nuclear weapons! Hey!" And we responded with attacking Iraq, who kept saying they didn't have them.
I entirely agree. I was watching with horror for a variety of reasons as Pres. Bush announced that we were going to invade Iraq, and one of the reasons was that North Korea obviously had the things that we thought that Iraq had.
It's good to see that I was not the only one apprehensive about this.
It's the Pres.'s birthday today too, unrelatedly.
I was raised a Republican... this Administration has made me an "independant for life"!
I originally registered as an independant when I turned 18, because I wanted to be neither a part of the Republican or the Democrats. Unfortunately, after I registered, I went through the independant party platform, and found quite a lot that I disagreed with.
So now I'm a registered Republican, but I'm dissatisfied.
I think we need a couple of new parties...
And Chipmunk, I certainly agree that he could have handled everything better. It's not even that I disagree with most choices made, it's just that they seem to have been done in a way to appear to be the most sinister option possible.
